And 580 days after the 2007 season ended, stats have finally been posted in STAT CREW format. I promised this would get done, and here they are (located in the toolbar). The process began during the 2007 season when Coach Phillips sent me some scoresheets from early-season game, and I received the book in full this past August and interpreted everything the best I could before a dozen players helped me along with the line with such things as pitching changes, miscellaneous subs and the like. Without them this would not be nearly as accurate as I have strived to make it. Great thanks to Zack Aubin, Nick Barton, Sean Burns, Kris Cauchon, Galen Doud, Bryan Johnson, Corey Juckett, Sean McGary, Mickey Merola, Ryan Miller, Andrew Newton and Nick Ringuette for their tremendous assistance. Stay tuned for additional updates soon, as well as the 2009 schedule (the composite schedule for all teams can currently be located on the Metro League Web site).

I have finished off the stats for 2008. I received feedback from a number of players who helped me reconstruct some things from the season, so thank you to Nick Barton, Kris Cauchon, Galen Doud, Corey Juckett and Nick Ringuette for their help with cleaning some things up. As I write this, I do consider the stats I've posted final - both the STAT CREW version and the HTML doc I have put together for every year since 1976 (minus 2007 as of yet) - but I am receptive to discussing changes if something looks awry.

Congratulations to the team on a great season in 2008. In Coach Perry's first season, the Lakers set a school record for road victories (7), matched their highest regular-season (11) and conference (9) win totals since 1983 and had their most overall wins (11) since 2000. They also won a program-high five straight road games while blanking a school-record five opponents.

With Coach Perry's cooperation and blessing, I'll continue being able to archiving information on the site. In addition to getting the 2008 roster compiled, I have gone back through the book and compiled the stats with the STAT CREW program, which is what nearly every college sports information office uses for maintaining stats. NOTE: As with the past, there are some things that will need tweaking, and I will be checking with Coach Perry and some players to fix some things. So please don't pass along these stats to college coaches or anything just yet. For the most part, however, they are correct. For the stats or roster, please e-mail me with any concerns that pop right out at you, and I will address any questions/comments you might have. This includes incorrect roster info and anything you might see in the stats that I potentially interpreted incorrectly from the scorebook.

I would also like to thank Tim Agan '84 for sending along a couple photos from his playing days. He contacted me earlier with the 1983 team photo (note the lack of fence and railing along the access road) and a candid shot of him playing first base from 1984 (note the ump in the tie!). Thanks, Tim, and much appreciated to all of the alums who have sent photos and stories. Please find the photos Tim sent on the Pictures & Stories page.

On Tuesday, before trekking back down here to Massachusetts, I did something I'd been planning to do for nearly four years: I finally got out to CHS with a digi cam and took photos of the field. Check it out, as well as the synopsis I put together for Saddlemire Field for the 2003 media guide (which was my senior seminar project at Saint Mike's), at the "Saddlemire Field" link.

The 2008 schedule has been updated, and I have begun keeping the Metro League standings once again. Coach Ryan O'Hara has been keeping me up to date during the team's first season with Tom Perry as head coach, and I'm really happy for everyone's success thus far. We're looking to add the final 2008 info once the season is complete, and I hope to finish off 2007 when I'm able to move in that direction. Basically, the Lakers Baseball Page will likely continue to house archival information, at the very least. Good luck the rest of the way to the 2008 team.

A couple notes: The all-time roster and the historical stats have not been touched in a while, so please do not refer to these if trying to obtain records or information. I apologize for the outdated info, I hope to fix that this summer.
