No-Hitters Pitched Against Colchester

  • May 21, 1996: John Wells of South Burlington pitched the first no-hitter against Colchester during a 3-1 Rebels victory at CHS. Wells struck out six, walked six and yielded only a seventh-inning unearned run during a complete game.

Hitting for the Cycle

  • John Bond (JR) - April 30, 1982: Bond hit for the cycle in Colchester's 9-6 victory at Mount Abraham. Bond sparked Colchester's three-run eighth inning rally with a two-out, solo home run to complete his cycle. Of the 19 Lakers hits, Bond rapped out five of them: two singles, one double, one triple and one home run. He also started the game on the mound but received a no-decision.

Multi-Homer Games

  • Kevin Grabowski (JR) - May 26, 1987: Grabowski went deep twice at Colchester High School against visiting Mount Mansfield. Kevin also hit a triple, drove in six runs and pitched a complete-game five-hitter in a 14-6 victory.

The Longest Game

  • May 26, 1992 vs. Rice: The Lakers played 11 long innings versus Rice and finally prevailed, 4-3, when sophomore Sean Gilbert's single to left-center field plated sophomore catcher Jeff Simays. Simays caught the entire game for pitchers Jeff Pecor (10 innings pitched and three runs allowed) and winner Nate Brubaker (one inning, zero runs). Bryant Perry doubled for the Lakers, who led 3-1 after five innings before a sixth-inning Rice rally. The win was the beginning of Colchester's longest winning streak of the season: two games. The Lakers won their next game just two days later over North Country after a long trek to Newport. The wins were their only two wins in their last seven games. Here is the line score:
    Team 123 456 789 10 11 - R H E
    Rice 010 002 000 0 0 - 3 6 6
